GROOVE CHOREOGRAPHY
Groove Choreography is a beginner-level class where you learn choreography by building a better relationship with the music and your body.
Instead of forcing shapes or trying to “perform,” the focus is on listening to the music and letting movement come from how it feels in your body. You’ll learn a groove-based phrase in a way that feels connected, relaxed, and free—not stiff or overthought.
This class is for dancers who want choreography to feel good in their body and make sense internally, not just look right on the outside.

ABOUT NIECEY ALMARIO
Niecey Almario is a Seattle-native dancer, choreographer, and teacher whose work sits at the crossroads of culture, creativity, and live performance.
Her career spans commercial work, festivals, theater, and education. She helps dancers understand what’s being asked of them — and how to meet it without losing their voice, their integrity, or the roots of the movement they come from.
Niecey has worked in both commercial industry and street dance communities, and her goal is to help bridge those worlds with respect and care. She is a Monsters of Hip Hop alum and former faculty member at the Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios, with training under Chonique & Lisette, Marty Kudelka, and Galen Hooks, as well as improvisation studies at Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles.
Her work includes projects with Seattle Theatre Group, Lowlands Festival, Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Dance, Summer Dance Forever, Amazon, Target, and Nickelodeon.
